Talwalkars set to expand in Kerala

  Talwalkars, one of India's largest chain of health centres, is setting the pace for its aggressive expansion spree with the inauguration of a new health centre at Kochi.  
   
 

24 April, 2007: Spread over 5,500 sft of space, the centre has a gymnasium, counselling room, weight loss/gain programmes, cardio, spinning, resistance and free-weight training equipment.

As with all the other centres of Talwalkars across the country, the Kochi health centre too will be equipped with Nautilus products, a worldwide leader in fitness equipment.

Prashant Talwalkar, managing director for Talwalkars, said the company would open centres at three more locations in Kerala with one of the centres being at Kovalam.

The Kochi centre has about 50 employees comprising 10 instructors and 10 trainers. The instructors and nutritionists undergo intensive training at the Talwalkars-owned training academy in Mumbai, prior to assuming their roles, he said.

Located at MG Road, Kochi, the centre can accommodate 1,500 to 2,000 members and will be open from 6 am to 10 pm throughout the week.

The centre will also provide services like massages, nutrition, counselling and physiotherapy.
